COLLEGEVILLE, MINNESOTA (April 2013)—Theologian and author Wendy M. Wright recounts visitations to her hometown’s many Marian churches and shrines in her new book, The Lady of the Angels and Her City: A Marian Pilgrimage. Wright delivers a glimpse
into the rich history of Los Angeles Catholicism, American Catholic culture, and Mary’s place in Catholic theology and tradition. Richly illustrated with full-color photographs, this book will delight and inform the reader while also providing a glimpse into the spiritual
landscape of Los Angeles.
“Wendy M. Wright writes like no one else in the field of spirituality today,” praises Fr. Edward L. Beck, CBS News Faith and Religion Contributor. “Travel with her on this fascinating Marian pilgrimage, and you will discover worlds that extend far beyond Mary and Los Angeles—and ultimately, you will be brought home to yourself.”
Published in paperback, this 264-page four-color book is priced at $19.95. The Lady of the Angels and Her City is now available directly from Liturgical Press. Order online at www.litpress.org or call 1-800-858-5450.Read More
On Saturday, August 4th, Pauline Books and Media hosted its first baby shower on the patio that is connected to the Book Center. The event was organized by the LA Pregnancy Center which is a Pro Life Nonprofit Group committed to saving babies from abortion. Last year they were able to save over 285 babies! Pauline Books and Media collected donations such as diapers, blankets, outfits, crib medals, and bible stories. Sr Marie James, the Book Center Manager says “It was a success and we hope to host another baby shower in February. Thanks to all those who generously contributed to the event.”
